Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People is the only theatre company on Vancouver Island that provides a full theatrical experience for young audiences, with all main stage performances being offered in the McPherson Playhouse. We offer two school performances per year, one in the late fall and one in early spring, in addition to our public performances and winter musical. The Elementary Woodshop, a Vancouver Island company, has designed a woodworking program for students in K-7 to address the Applied Design, Skills and Technologies (ADST) curriculum. Teachers with no woodworking experience can now teach ADST with pre-cut, pre-drilled woodworking kits for their students accompanied by cross-curricular workbooks. Numerous subjects are included in each workbook and all have a lesson in Aboriginal perspectives and knowledge and introduce students to hands-on learning and the world of trade careers.
