I found myself in the awkward position of having to give birth to English 8 to 12, with all points in between, to be delivered online and to serve a variety of students purposes. I created Class Notbooks for each grade and managed the work through Teams. It seems to me that in this current situation, many of us find ourselves teaching "blended" or online courses when we are much more used to a traditional classroom situation. In this collaboarative session, ELA teachers can share what works and what doesn't, lessons learned, and where to find resources and apps that add to the educational experience.
Margaret has been teaching English and ESL for almost thirty years. She enjoys creating curriculum (most of the time) and experimenting with ways to make her classroom practice stronger. She has approached the challenges of the past year with a heady mixture of terror, stoicism, excitement and courage -- never knowing which one would rise to the fore in any situation.
