Since 2011, I have been a dedicated and passionate language teacher with Edmonton Public Schools in Edmonton, Alberta. This fall my family has realized our dream of moving to Vancouver Island and I have been working as a TTOC since the move.

For the past nine years, I have taught French as a Second Language from grades six to twelve including French B in the International Baccalaureate Programme. I started in the French Immersion program as a student from a 100% anglophone family. I majored in French at the University of Alberta and went on to student teach, teach on call and then teach as a grade six-homeroom French immersion teacher and more recently work as a grade ten French Language Arts teacher. I am a shameless and unapologetic promoter of the immersion and second language programs!

I was so fortunate that Edmonton Public afforded me the opportunities to be trained as an assesor for the DELF Exam (Diplôme d'études de la langue française), in French B by BCAIBWS (in the International Baccalaureate Programme), work as a marker for Alberta Education in the summers and receive extensive professional development through IISLE (Institute for Innovation in Second Language Education).

Since January 2017, I have taken on my most incredible teaching assignment, raising my daughter bilingually. This has been the most wonderful experience as my now four year daughter will be the first person in my family to truly grow up in both English and French.

Now on the island, I have worked in immersion as a TTOC from Kindergarten to grade 12 in four districts. From Novmeber 16-January 29 I worked half time in a French Immersion grade ten position. I am hoping to find a full time position in the New Year!
