Engineer Your Own Instrument

Design thinking is a step-by-step process for creative problem solving, and uses empathy and experimentation to come up with exciting and innovative solutions to unique problems. In this workshop, participants will use design thinking while exploring a hands-on engineering design challenge! After learning about the science of sound energy, teachers will be challenged to create a musical instrument that produces sound. This workshop provides participants with the opportunity to try a hands-on, curriculum-connected science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activity, as well as gain the knowledge and confidence to bring similar activities into their classrooms.
