The Design Thinking Classroom - Strategies and tools for purposeful ADST modules.

 

In this workshop, participants will engage with the Design Cycle, circular design principles and explore the “why” behind ADST modules. We will practice using the Design Cycle and discover how design challenges and constraints lead to creativity, innovation and purposeful design. Together we will explore how ADST modules develop 21st century skills and how modules can be used as a catalyst for service learning and sustainability within your school community.

    Sustainability expert and educator Jackie Schemenauer empowers schools to educate for sustainability by integrating sustainability concepts and practices into the curriculum, school culture and campus operations. Jackie holds a MEd in sustainability and school leadership, and has extensive experience teaching and leading in International Baccalaureate World schools around the globe. She is an award winning school sustainability coordinator, experienced workshop leader and instructional coach. 
     
    Jackie’s areas of expertise include: Educating for Sustainability (EfS), Garden and Nature Based Learning, Systems Thinking, Design Thinking, Whole School Transformation and Change Methodology, Inquiry and Experiential Learning, Zero Waste Design, Circular Economy in STEAM, and Sustainable Campus Operations.
